Light filters in through the window, settling on half-played backgammon pieces and a knit draped over a chair. A stack of newspapers rests nearby. The space hums with intention—lived in, layered, never trying too hard.
It’s here that Devon Byrd sits with us—NYC as backdrop, style as conversation. We talk about movement, the shift toward a more refined streetwear, and why the clothes that last are the ones built on purpose.
How did it feel stepping into the world of EVE for this editorial?
Stepping into the world of EVE felt amazing. There was this immediate sense of luxury, but it was paired with an effortless ease that made everything feel super natural. The pieces were clean-cut and refined, but also incredibly comfortable—like elevated loungewear that you actually want to live in. The color palette and textures really stood out to me,and being in that environment, styled head-to-toe in EVE, felt both elevated and totally at home.
“There’s a sense of luxury, but it feels effortless—like you actually want to live in these clothes.”

You’ve got 24 hours in NYC. What’s the move?
Start in SoHo. Pop into a few shops, people-watching, maybe a bite at Ruby’s or Fanelli’s. Something casual but classic. Then I’d head over to the Lower East Side since there’s always great energy down there. I’d end the night at a lounge or a speakeasy.
“SoHo feels like the whole city passes through—it's a blend of every style you can think of.”
Best-dressed neighborhood in the city?
SoHo, hands down. It feels like the whole city migrates there at some point during the day, so you get this incredible blend of personal style. Whether it's someone dressed in full designer or someone mixing vintage with streetwear, it all comes together in a really inspiring way.
What drew you to work with EVE?
There’s real intention and passion behind the brand. You can feel it in the clothes, in the storytelling, and in the people. I love when fashion is treated like art—and that’s exactly what EVE is doing. You can feel it in the way they create moments through their clothes. It all just felt very genuine, and I was naturally drawn to that.
How does EVE’s style line up with your own?
It’s versatile. I like to mix things up, so I gravitate toward brands that can move between clean, elevated looks and more relaxed, everyday essentials. EVE really hits that sweet spot. Whether I’m going for something luxury, streetwear-inspired, or just cozy loungewear, they’ve got it. Nine times out often, if I’m not getting fully dressed up, I’m reaching for something comfortable but still put-together—and that’s exactly what EVE delivers.
Streetwear is always evolving—how do you define it in your own words right now?
I see streetwear is leaning more into luxury and refinement. There’s been a lot of leather lately, which adds this elevated edge to classic streetwear silhouettes. The oversized, super baggy fits are starting to fade, and we’re seeing more tailored, form-fitting pieces come into play.
“We’re in the tailored era. Streetwear isn’t about being baggy anymore—it’s about being intentional.”
NYC has such a strong fashion identity. How has the city shaped your personal style?
New York is the mecca of fashion, there’s inspiration everywhere you turn. Just walking around the city, you’re constantly surrounded by personal style, art, and creativity. The culture here pushes you to express yourself and try new things. Being around so many talented, driven people really shaped how I approach fashion.
Who inspires your current looks?
ASAP Rocky and Stefon Diggs. They both take risks but stay grounded.
You're known for your online presence—how do you stay authentic?
For me, the key is staying true to who I am. I’ve found that when you do what’s authentic to you—whether it’s your style, your voice, or the brands you choose to work with—people naturally connect with it. I’m not trying to be overly curated or perfect, I just try to be myself and let that come through in my content. At the end of the day, people relate to realness, and that’s what I aim to share.
“People connect with realness. I’m not here to be perfect—I’m here to be present.”
One trend you're into—and one that’s over?
Right now, I’m really loving sleeker boots, like the ones from Bottega or Prada. They’re slim, clean-cut, and elevate any outfit. I used to be all about sneakers, but now I find that every outfit I wear has some sort of boot or loafer—those have become my go-to. On the flip side, I think we can leave the oversized, exaggerated boots, like the Alaskan boots, behind. They definitely had their moment, but they don’t feel as relevant anymore.
What’s next for you—any style projects, collaborations, or personal goals on the horizon?
One thing I’d love to check off my bucket list is walking a runway show during any of the fashion weeks. It’s always been a dream. I’m also looking forward to continuing to grow in both styling and modeling—it’s all part of the creative journey for me.
If you could style anyone in EVE, who would it be?
Jordan Clarkson. He’s an NBA player, but he’s also known for having such a versatile sense of style. I think the brand’s aesthetic would really complement his current style and bring something fresh to his looks.
Be real—what piece from the shoot would you take home and rock daily?
The lounge pants. Super comfy, but you can style them up or down. I’d also take any of the t-shirts, they’re just the perfect fit.
Go-to outfit when you’re in a rush?
When I’m in a rush but still want to look good, I always go for a matching set. I’ve got this camel-colored set that I love—it’s sweatpants and a sweatshirt, so it’s comfy, but still looks put-together. You can’t go wrong with that. If I’m feeling like switching it up, I’ll go for a full denim set. I can pair it with a loafer, boot, or sneaker, honestly, it works with anything
A fashion rule you always break?
Wearing white socks with black loafers. Doesn’t bother me at all.
Dream collab for EVE?
I’d love to see something with Stussy or Comme des Garçons. Both brands have such a unique, strong identity, and I think a collaboration with EVE would really push the boundaries.
